My graduate work was done in the Machine Tool Research Center at the University of Florida in Gainesville where I developed sensor-based systems for monitoring the metal cutting process in CNC machinery. My areas of specialization are vibration analysis, control systems, machine monitoring, and manufacturing. I am especially interested in the integration of sensors and computers with dynamic mechanical systems ... a field generally referred to as "mechatronics." You can look over my resume [PDF] to learn more about my engineering and academic background.
One of my engineering software applications is PLOTTER, a compact
but powerful program for graphing and evaluating data from experiments
or simulations. It is widely used at universities, companies and government
facilities.
